From South Melbourne to Drouin - via Jindivick
Fifteen years ago Paul and Alexandra Liefman moved to Jindivick from South Melbourne for a complete lifestyle change .
With six kids under 13 the pressure to move closer to friends and school has become too great and he is moving his brood to Jackson's View.
A rapidly growing number of his children attend the Chairo Christian School in Drouin that has an active parent community and he is keenly involved in its activities - and is just down the road from Jackson's View.
The former state president of the Vietnam Veteran, and ex-Labor Government advisor, has made his reputation defending soldiers and has taken on the bureaucracy many times over the years but is now contemplating putting his feet up and focussing on the family.
"We did the country change and now were moving part of the way back to Melbourne," Paul said. But he is unlikely to get any closer than the busy little country town of Drouin.
Paul said was so impressed with Jackson's View that he camped out to secure his block of land in the latest release so he can build his seven bedroom, two storey home in exactly the right location.
He did his research to secure the best block on Sloan Square by getting the advice of local design expert Trevor Chugg who recommended a "high side" block of 950 sqm.
The Liefmans likes the family atmosphere at Jackson's View with its central park, playgrounds and community centre and are keen on the body corporate, the first for the region, that will maintain the grounds and facilities.
He said moving from his 260 degree views over the Brisbane Ranges to "quarter acre" block will certainly take some adjustment but he has 12 months before he needs to settle on his new block so there is plenty of time to get sell his home and adjust to his new life.
